about

The brainchild of brothers Hans and Bjarki, Vigri plays melodic rock with inspirations from both pop and classical music. The band name is taken from the final ship that the brothers' grandfather ever sailed on as a captain (Vigri RE-71).
Debut album Pink Boats, was released in June 2011. It includes 10 original tracks and features electric guitars to the bells of Hallgrimskirkja church in downtown Reykjavik.
Pink Boats was mostly recorded in old churches around Iceland to capture the special atmosphere and sound. The album's name derives from a vision that hunted the band during their recording sessions when the red Icelandic sunset would lie over the sea's horizon and turn all the boats from white to pink.

The music video for their song Sleep, directed by Ragnar Snorrason, was shot in the volcanic ash following the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano in the summer 2010. The video has been featured at numerous film festivals around the world.
